MYRIAM BOUCHARD of New Paltz, a certified business advisor
at the Mid-Hudson Region Small Business Development Center
located in Kingston, received the Association of Small
Business Development Centers’ top honor for New York
state, the New York State Star Performer Award.
CAP PRODUCTIONS, a full-service video production company
in Middletown, received a plaque from Orange County Sheriff
Carl DuBois recently at the Orange County Sheriff's Awards
recognition night, for a public service announcement
(PSA) donated to the department. The PSA was part of
the Homeland Security Initiative Operation Safeguard's "If
You See Something Say Something" campaign. With
the first-ever collaboration of Orange County sheriff
officers and sheriff K-9 units, the town of Wallkill
Police Department, Monroe Police Department, the state
police and state police bomb squad, Metropolitan Transportation
Agency (MTA) and MTA K-9 units, a reenactment of a terrorist
leaving an explosive device on a train platform was videoed,
with a good samaritan calling 911 and the police response. "We
hope it encourages the public to speak up, if you see
something suspicious, report it."
HUDSON VALLEY
FEDERAL CREDIT UNION announced it presented
a $500 scholarship to Zhong (John) Zhuang of Hopewell
Junction. The scholarship was provided by the New York
State Credit Union League’s annual scholarship program.
Zhuang, who is scheduled to graduate this spring from
John Jay Senior High School in Hopewell Junction, was
selected because of his strong academic record and extracurricular
involvement.
IMAGING ON CALL
L.L.C., a Poughkeepsie-based teleradiology
provider and industry leader in patient care, announced
that it has acquired NightVision Radiology Inc. of Mayfield
Heights, Ohio. With the addition of NightVision, Imaging
On Call will increase its roster of physicians to 31
radiologists serving a growing and expanding base of
U.S. hospitals and radiology practices.
OPTIMUS ARCHITECTURE in Rhinebeck was retained by the
Mid- Hudson Medical Group in Fishkill to design its new
42,500 square feet of medical offices at 30 Columbia
St. in Poughkeepsie, next to Vassar Brothers Hospital.
The state-of-the-art facility will replace an existing
medical office building, providing all clinical specialties,
including imaging.

Newsmakers
BARBARA BENNET of Clinton Corners, an HIV/AIDS researcher
and public health advocate, will coordinate the Hudson
Valley's newly reconfigured HIV Care Network in Hawthorne.
The HIV Care Network was recently revitalized by combining
two former networks, one for lower Hudson and one for
the mid-Hudson, into a single entity, which gives HIV-plus
consumers and service providers a forum in which to create
the most efficient service delivery system. She holds
a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Queens College
and a Master of Public Health degree from the Mailman
School of Public Health at Columbia University.
JUSTIN FROEHLICH of Fishkill was appointed junior accountant
in the client service department of Vanacore, DeBenedictus,
DiGovanni & Weddell L.L.P., an accounting firm in
Newburgh and Wappingers Falls. He holds a bachelor’s
degree in accounting and business from SUNY Plattsburgh.
TED GALGANO of Southeast was appointed managing director,
part of the global transportation and infrastructure
group of the public finance division, of MBIA Inc., a
financial guarantor and provider of specialized financial
services headquartered in Armonk. He joined MBIA in 1993
as an analyst in the public finance division. He was
instrumental in structuring the $379-million Yankee Stadium
deal and is responsible for analyzing and structuring
a wide variety of municipal bond financings. He holds
a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York
College at Oneonta and a Master of Business Administration
degree from Iona College.
ELLEN GRIFFIN of Hyde Park was promoted to the position
of assistant executive director of Poughkeepsie-based
REHAB Programs Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides
a wide range of educational, vocational, residential
and clinical programs and services to more than 2,000
people with disabilities and their families.
RICHARD L. KOHLHAUSEN of South Nyack, a SUNY Rockland
Community College trustee, was reappointed by New York
state Gov. David Paterson for a term to expire June 30,
2013. He has served for three years, completing the term
of a prior trustee who relocated out of the area. He
also serves on the board of Nyack Hospital and formerly
served as president of the Nyack school board and as
a member of the board of the Edwin Gould Academy in Ramapo.
