Michael A. Smith of Newburgh, vice president of Elant, Inc., Goshen, a nonprofit organization that provides health and housing services, was awarded the Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) designation from the Health Ethics Trust, a division of the Council of Ethical Organizations, Alexandria, Va.

Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie, was recognized by the Get With The Guidelines (GWTG) program of the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for its achievement in cardiac and strokes patient care. The GWTG program works with hospitals to insure that patients consistently receive cardiac and stroke care in accordance with the most up-to-date guidelines and recommendations.
