New York ISO powers up CEO search

Mark Lynch is stepping down as chief executive officer of the New York Independent System Operator, which oversees the state’s wholesale energy market and 10,800-mile grid of high-voltage lines.

Lynch plans to resign by next February; NYISO did not immediately name a successor, but the Rensselaer non-profit organization has hired executive search firm Heidrick & Struggles to identify one.

Lynch became NYISO’s second CEO in March 2005, replacing Bill Museler. Previously Lynch was president of Mirant Corp.’s New York and New England operations.
