The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is working with a network of lenders under the Patriot Express Pilot Loan Initiative. Several New York state banks have been approved to participate in the program, including many of the SBA's largest lenders.

 

 

 

Those between 21 and 40 are eligible for recognition

Orange County will host the second annual Rising Stars awards and is asking companies and volunteer organizations to submit names of nominees between the ages of 21 and 40 for recognition. You may even nominate yourself ­ don't be shy!

 

 

Health Care
 
 

Kids can get an early taste of what it's like having a career in health care at Benedictine Hospital's Health and Technology Camp, otherwise known as BeneCamp. The camp is held at the hospital, which is located in Kingston. For five days in July, 25 girls and boys from Ulster County ages 10 to 14 get an overview of the health-care profession at the free camp, which is funded by a grant from the Catskill Area Health Education Center. The hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and campers are served breakfast, lunch and two snacks.

Stewart International Airport, long teetering on the edge of becoming a major economic force in the Hudson Valley, is now at its tipping point.

 

 

 

Arguably the most prominent transportation issue in the Hudson Valley during the first part of 2007 has been what to do with the Tappan Zee Bridge.

 

 

 

For more than 100 years, the village of Rhinebeck had been home to several fire-observation towers overlooking the Hudson Valley. The last tower, built by the Army Corps of Engineers at Hyde Park, was taken down after World War II.

 

 

 

There aren't many places where you can order a Duetche wurst, listen to greetings in several different languages and get the international sign for “up yours” when looking for a parkng spot all in one location.
