1. Fourteen Ulster County area students were awarded $2,000 scholarships from the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation in recognition of their outstanding personal achievement and community involvement. Initiated in 2001, the scholarship program celebrated Ulster Savings Bank’s 150th anniversary and became part of the bank’s foundation, which was formed in 2003. 2. The recent Putnam Hospital Center Golf Tournament, sponsored by Northeastern Anesthesia Services and held at Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury, Conn., raised more than $210,000 for the hospital. 3. Houlhan Lawrence Inc., one of the largest privately owned real estate firms in the region, was recently honored for its commitment and support of the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit organization established to fund support services for people fighting breast cancer in the Hudson Valley. The honor was bestowed upon the firm at a brunch held in The Grandview Hotel in Poughkeepsie. More than 200 people attended the Orange County Chamber of Commerce breakfast at Newburgh’s Ramada Inn July 10 to hear Robert Dennison, chief engineer, New York State Department of Transportation (DOT). Here are some faces in the crowd.

The Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce held a “meet and greet” party for its new executive director, Michael Johndrow, a retired school superintendent, whose wife Jacqueline chose Warwick as the place to live in their retirement. Now Warwick has chosen Johndrow to lead its growing chamber. Here are some of the chamber’s members and friends at the party held in The Eclectic Eye, July 10.
