Melanie Duerr of Beacon was appointed vice president for certified services at the Visiting Nurse Association of Hudson Valley, Tarrytown, a home health-care agency. Most recently, Duerr was the administrator at Optimal Home Health, Bakersfield, Calif. Prior to that, she was the founder and managing partner of Home Partners L.L.C., a clinical consulting firm. Duerr holds a Bachelor of Science degree from LeMoyne College and a Master of Science degree in the nurse practitioner program from the University of Rochester.

Hospice Inc., Poughkeepsie, a not-for-profit health-care agency that provides programs and services to individuals who are at the end of life, announced the installation of the following individuals to its board of directors: Kimberly Hunt Lee of Balmville, an attorney at the law firm McCabe & Mack L.L.P., Poughkeepsie; Mary Ellen Cologero, a senior vice president and portfolio manager in the Kingston office of Key Private Bank; Helen Rinaudo of Poughkeepsie, vice president for human resources at Saint Francis Hospital and Health Centers, Poughkeepsie; and Jay L. Samoff of Kingston, an attorney with a practice in Kingston.

Hospice Foundation Inc., Poughkeepsie, announced the installation of the following individuals to its board of trustees: Ellen Lois of Staatsburg, a retired nurse; and Kirk Imperati of Poughkeepsie, undersheriff of Dutchess County.
