Goodradio.TV buys several radio stations

Goodradio.TV L.L.C. has acquired several radio stations in Dutchess and Ulster counties from Clear Channel Communications Inc., part of its $450 million purchase of nearly 200 Clear Channel stations in 36 markets.

The FM stations in the deal include:

• WRWD (107.3), a country-music station in Highland

WRWC (99.3), a companion station in Ellenville

WRNQ (92.1), a contemporary pop-music station in Poughkeepsie

WPKF (96.1), a Poughkeepsie top-40 station that brands itself “Kiss”

WBWZ (93.3), a contemporary station in New Paltz.

The AM stations include WKIP (1450) in Poughkeepsie and WELG (1370) in Ellenville, sister stations that air music and news.

Goodradio.TV is also acquiring three stations in Columbia and Greene counties.

The company is based in West Palm Beach, Fla., and is run by Dean Goodman, who previously was an executive with ION Media Networks. ION owns 60 television stations, the largest being WPXN in New York City.

San Antonio-based Clear Channel is currently finalizing a buyout by a group of private equity firms.
